These Are the Different Types of Personal Trainers

Finding the motivation to exercise is challenging, and even more so if you’re trying to make a habit out of it. That’s why hiring a personal trainer might be the solution you need. They are experts when it comes to giving you that push you need.

However, not all trainers work the same. Some trainers have specialized in specific avenues of exercise, each designed to meet different goals. So, how do you know which personal trainer is for you?

Let’s discuss the various types of personal trainers available and why hiring one is a great idea.

Why You Should Hire a Personal Trainer

If you’re brand new to working out, you might not know exactly what to do or where to start. You might have been working out for a long time now, and yet, you haven’t noticed any significant changes, and we all know how unmotivating that can be. Personal trainers have studied how to help you overcome any possible block that is preventing you from reaching your goals.

Personal trainers are not just meant to transform your bodies. If your goal is to become active again, but you’re dealing with a serious illness or injury, a personal trainer can guide you well and supervise the training you do.

Cardio Trainers

The name says it all. These trainers know everything when it comes to losing weight and burning fat through cardio training. They love making their hearts race and know just how to help you increase resistance.

Trainers for the Bored-Easily

Are you tired of doing the same exercise for several reps in a row? If that’s the case, these trainers know just how to keep you in shape without boring the life out of you. They know just how to mix and match all kinds of exercises to keep you motivated and entertained.

Whether it’s doing one rep of many kinds of exercises or going from squatting to dancing, they no doubt will make you want to keep going and push past your limits.

Physique Trainers

Perhaps you’ve been working out for a long time now, yet you still haven’t achieved that body you so badly desire. Physique trainers are the ones to turn to if this is the case.

They know how to target your muscles and work them well in order to help you achieve that body-building figure you want. They also are certified in advising you on what kinds of foods you should eat to promote muscle growth.

A Trainer and Friend

Working out with a friend is always a great boost of motivation. You get to support each other, encourage each other, and feel pain together. Well, there’s a personal trainer that does just that!

They get involved with you, making sure to meet your needs accordingly by providing the best exercises for you while supporting you just as a friend would. They make themselves available 24/7 and are completely approachable, making it easier to ask questions or clear up doubts.

Enthusiastic Trainers

A personal trainer who is pumped with positive vibes and loads of energy will always get you up and moving, even if you’ve had a long day at work or school. Before you even begin to question whether you should exercise or not, this trainer will have you running, squatting, or lifting weights.

Tough Trainers

Sometimes, you might not respond well to the over-the-top positive and energetic attitude that some personal trainers have to offer. If you prefer a tough trainer, one that won’t allow you to make any kind of excuses, then this one might be the one for you.

They truly believe and live by the famous “no pain, no gain” quote. Their methods are old school, but you will get results in no time.

Lifestyle Trainers

People looking for immediate results make drastic changes that are difficult to upkeep, such as a restrictive diet and hardcore workouts. The issue with this is that, once people achieve their results, they fall back into old habits, losing all the progress they had worked towards.

Lifestyle trainers don’t just make you gain those results you’re looking for but also help you adjust your entire lifestyle. They help you adopt a new way of living that promotes health as well as mental well-being.

What to Look Out for

Before fixing your mind on a personal trainer, you should do some research beforehand. Make sure the trainer you’re thinking of hiring has got some good reviews. See if other clients were able to fulfil their goals with this trainer’s help.

Don’t fully commit to the trainer starting day one. Give it a session or two, and see if you’re happy with the trainer’s methods. If you’re not comfortable, then perhaps seeking out another trainer will be the better choice.

Beware of any red flags as well. You don’t want a trainer that ignores any pain you’re feeling or that doesn’t seem to listen to you. If a trainer uses the wrong methods for motivational purposes, such as body shaming, it’s time to look for another trainer.

Types of Personal Trainers-Which One to Pick

It’s all up to the kind of person you are. You’re likes, dislikes, your health, and so on. We all have preferences for working out, and you more than anyone will know which kind of personal trainer you’ll respond more favorably to.

Choose the one that’ll best fit your needs the best, and mostly, that’ll help you enjoy exercising. All these types of personal trainers are great, but if one appeals to you the most, then that must be your destined trainer!
